Hello Partners, Network Engineer Columbus Ohio 6 to 9 months Contract SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER ‐ JOB SUMMARY This position reports to the Manager, Infrastructure Operations and will assist users in achieving optimum use of their computer networks by performing needs analysis, procurement support, installation, training and problem resolution for the local and wide area networks. Responsible for configuration, operation, and administration of network server hardware, operating systems, and communications links. Defines and implements solutions to integrate desktop and shared devices into local and wide area networks and/or other host‐based networks. The Senior Network Engineer will manage some day‐to‐day tasks backfilling CRAA Senior Network Engineer and CRAA Senior Infrastructure Engineer. Additionally, this position may be asked to document PCI controls, process, and coordinate implementation of these processes. ESSENTIAL TASKS, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES 1.Analyzes users' needs. Recommends appropriate network configurations to meet user’s needs and departmental standards. 2. Implements and maintains bridges, routers, gateways, remote access servers, domain servers, security firewalls, application and device servers and Internet or Intranet devices and connections. 3.Designs, configures, monitors and optimizes local and wide area networks and printers for optimal performance, maximum availability, minimal maintenance, and reasonable costs. 4.Performs preventative and fault isolation maintenance on the local and wide area networks. Performs file maintenance on servers, domains, electronic post offices, and user files and/or data bases. 5.Designs, configures, maintains and manages network security features for local and wide area networks. Configures, monitors, and maintains anti‐virus programs to insure network and systems integrity. Adds and deletes users as required on network servers and applications. 6.Manages daily systems and services to meet security, dependability and reliability requirements. 7.Analyzes, recommends, and evaluates new hardware, software, and communications products for network compatibility and applicability. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems. Equivalent education, work experience, knowledge and skills may qualify. 5 years related work experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Requires knowledge of local and wide area networks; computer software, hardware and network planning and analysis. Must be able to exhibit working knowledge equivalent to Cisco CCNP (with Security, Wireless and Voice) & CCDP certification levels. Strong analytical skills Effective interpersonal and communication skills to interact with a wide range of users having different levels of computer expertise Ability to design workable solutions to problems in a timely manner Able to prioritize workload and work under pressure Ability to meet deadlines and manage projects Understanding of PCI DSS 3.0 Proficiency with Netbrain 5.x is desired Experience with Solarwinds Orion is desired Regards: Sam Williams - Recruiting Manager ITBrainiac Inc.
