UNIX Core Services - knowledge of LDAP, Kerberos, DNS Investment banking is a desire but not a deal breaker. Our direct financial services client is looking for a Consultant for a Unix Systems Administrator position to join their Platform Operations group. THE DAY TO DAY: The successful candidate's primary role will be to provide production support for the bank's global Unix server estate and assist the wider Infrastructure team in the execution of major SAN/NAS storage migration program. The candidate must be a good team player, with a proven track record of delivery in high pressure, technically challenging environments. Good technical, communication and interpersonal skills are particularly important. * The right candidate is a self-driven Individual who can take ownership and function independently and also work with the team on complex storage related projects * RedHat Linux 5.x / 6.x administration. * Good knowledge of Linux OS and with ability to troubleshoot Linux performance issues * Is confident to handle production issues and will be responsible to maintain a high up time of production servers WHAT GETS YO THE JOB: * 5 years + experience with products like VERITAS volume manager and VERITAS Cluster Server * Must have clear understanding of server build process like jumpstart and kick-start * Implement engineered solutions, improve efficiency and stability * Good understanding of ITIL concepts and previous experience with tools similar to Service now, Remedy * Shell / Perl / Python OR bash Scripting skill for Automations * Must have AutoFS / NIS * Role will include weekend support and project work.
