i am using vmxnet3 on a large amount of VMware-Wokrstation machines
as also on all orduction servers hosted on ESXi 4.1 since a really
long time and would never ever use vmxnet2 since you have a big problem
is something goes wrong and you need network access from your guest
to fix the troubles
