Hi, I am using the OpenVM Tools that come with Debian 7 - Upstream Version 2:8.8.0. I posted my issues on the debian tracker, but one issue seems to be an upstream problem: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=736812
To Quote: "the vmtoolsd instances spawned by vmware-user-suid-wrapper dont handle SIGUSR1 and SIGUSR2 as they should. The issue here is that you cant stop/start the vmblock filesystem as long as anyone is using it. Supposedly you would send a signal to the user daemons, telling them to give up any references to it - but its not handled and instead the user daemon terminates." In short, I got everything working with the fixes I outlined in the referenced report, but the vmblock "service" cant be stopped or restarted.
