I have been installing the official vmware-tools rpm on all of my RHEL6 servers, and then updating /etc/vmware-tools/tools.conf from true to false: sed -i 's/disable-tools-version=true/disable-tools-version=false/g' /etc/vmware-tools/tools.conf
This then shows that vmware-tools is running and updated inside of my vcenter console. For RHEL7 however, we are now being asked to use open-vm-tools, which is perfectly fine and works well. Is there a conf file I can update that will remove the 3rd Party/Independent from the VM console? Is it as simple as adding a tools.conf file? [vmtools] disable-tools-version=false Look forward to hearing from you Alyson Whitaker Sr. Linux Engineer [MEDHOST logo] 6550 Carothers Pkwy STE 100 Franklin, TN 37067 p. 615.761.2514 c. 615.970.0086 f. 615.761.1205 alyson.whita...@medhost.com<mailto:alyson.whita...@medhost.com> Register for the 2015 MEDHOST MPACT Summit held September 14-18, 2015 in Nashville, Tennessee.
