The error comes from the arm post installation script I guess: scripts/common/post_install_arm.sh This one is in charge of assembling the toolset from existing ARM libraries and header files. It is ST specific, one could change the reference to the locally installed archives into wget <url> probably. The base-devimage-open64-arm-20100419.tgz contains fragments of a CodeSourcery GCC archive and is used for the libgcc in particular, but we could probably clean this up and use the same toolset for both libgcc and the other libraries/headers.
