ubuntu defaults to dash iirc
solaris defaults to some ancient and crufty sh (*really* old like circa 
1984)
freebsd (I think it's bash, but could also be csh iirc)

Generally it's good to use standard sh and avoid bash'ism (You never 
know when portability will matter)
