Thanks for your reply.
I have searched on the open64 website, but I couldn't find any tutorials. I 
wonder if there is any documentation for the instrumentation module such as the 
ones for WHIRL or symtab.

instrumentation was covered in a tutorial done at Micro around 2002, I
believe. Check out the tutorials materials in open64 or equivalent
