Right now, it combines the best features of Twitter, blogging, Usenet and bulletin boards. Later it will include private messaging features, similar to email or facebook. Its long term goal is to enable anonymous public communication[1] and secure private communication[2] in such a way that governments will not be able to spy on its users, or to shut it down without shutting down the whole internet.
