I'd support an alternate interface between afsd and the cache manager
which used NFS-style file handles rather than inode numbers to
identify cache files.  This would also allow a cache to be split
across multiple partitions.

(NetBSD 1.5 supports fhopen(), fhstat() and fhstatfs() system calls to
allow use of file handles by applications other than NFS)
