We do still have problems, using openafs-1.0.2 with linux 2.4.0 on our
dual PIII-nodes. However the source of our problems is not very clear at
the moment. Running openafs and kernel 2.4.0 on two nearly identical SMP
nodes, we get the following results:

- openafs works more or less well on the node with only 1 GB RAM
(SYM53C1010 chipset)

- openafs has problems with memory mapping on the other node with 2 GB
ram (SYM53C896 chipset):
        - no binary can't be run within AFS
        - no compilations ca be performed within AFS

cc -c xxx writeest.c
cpp: writest.c: Bad address

So both machines are running the same kernel. The hardware is also the
same with one difference: one machine has a SCSI DUAL channel Ultra 160
controller with LSI Symbios SYM53C1010 chipset whereas the other machine
owns a SCSI DUAL U2W controller with LSI Symbios SYM53C896 chipset. But
this should make no real difference - no?

Regards

/Herbert
