Hi, I tried to install the openafs client on old windows95 OSR2 laptop, and would like to note two things I've faced. I have to say I did not have time to test if the installation worked at all, as solving the problems took me a while and then .... :(
Binaries require MFC42.DLL, which have to be downloaded and installled additionally, possibly from http://www.webattack.com/help/missingfiles.html When the AFS Control Panel 1.2.2b got started, it exited with error message that mmap.vxd cannot be located (actually this message I already got when booting into windows). It seemed that the path in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Current Control Set\Services/VxD\mmap had to be specified in the DOS way, so the directory name truncated using the "~" into the DOS 8.3 notation. I think the installer put there full long path. When I get back to the laptop physically, I'll test it a bit more. ;) Hope this helps someone who did de binary release. Except the synchronized time it's not clear to me, how the kerberos part has to be configured on windows. Any hints? TIA. ;) -- Martin Mokrejs <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> PGP5.0i key is at http://www.natur.cuni.cz/~mmokrejs MIPS / Institute for Bioinformatics <http://mips.gsf.de> GSF - National Research Center for Environment and Health Ingolstaedter Landstrasse 1, D-85764 Neuherberg, Germany tel.: +49-89-3187 3616 , fax: +49-89-3187 3585 _______________________________________________ OpenAFS-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.openafs.org/mailman/listinfo/openafs-devel
