Yes, p-p-p-pleeeeeeezzzeee disable (or throw away completely).
Since it shouldn't be used and NTP seems to work almost everywhere I'm all for ripping it out. Better do it now in the devel tree than wait until the stable release has happened. Why keep stuff that's known to be broken and shouldn't be used at all?
