Hrmm.. I was hoping this would explain some performance problems we've seen lately. We've of late had the occasion to move CD images in and out of AFS and we've seen some very slow filesystem operations doing this -- to the point of making the workstation nearly unusable.
Shouldn't matter for that, it's only directory lookups.
