well, that's not going to be enough. you want to diff the head against
the 1.2.82 tiger branch at the time that branch was diffed, and then
apply that diff to the 1.3.82 tiger branch, and then cvs diff that to get
a diff that should be applied.
And for generating patches, you really want to use -u
