Enabling transarc paths or not affects where the various components expect
to find each other and configuration. It does not affect where things go
that should be in $prefix; to do that, change $prefix. Note that if you
are using transarc paths, there is a non-trivial chance you also want to
use the results of 'make dest' rather than 'make install'.
I suggest ignoring transarc paths and 'make dest'.
