If you don't make it the default, the immediate reaction will be:
"Why, can it not be trusted?". Or is there any _other_ reason
not to make it default?

Because it's new and not yet widely used.
Because not all of us are as confident as the gatekeepers that it's stable.
Because a DAFS fileserver is useless with existing bosserver configuration.
Because it violates the principle of least surprise.

Pick one.
