That's normal. "vos" tries to attach the backup volume id to see if one
already exists; the "Couldn't open header" message is because the volume
doesn't exist.

The SYNC errors are a bug. I believe that is 131505, fixed by fea397b0
in 1.6.6pre*. iirc the bug is just cosmetic, in that it just results in
those extra error messages, and no noticeable behavior change.
