== Linux news ==

Marc tested the current 1.6 head against the current Linux mainline (rc6+), and
we're still good.

== Problem reports ==

=== RT #131819 (vos size -dump) ===

Gerrit 10876 seems desirable, but shouldn't block 1.6.8.

Andrew is still working on the bind mount implementation. He's getting the
impression that Red Hat will do something about the issue, but that will
probably just buy us time. Marc notes that using d_materialise_unique, as
proposed on -info/-devel is not an option because it's gplonly. He also notes
that patches may hit 3.15 (3.14 seems very unlikely) that would make
d_splice_alias error out if it finds an alias, and thus force us to implement
some workaround.

[Update: As Andrew reports in
https://lists.openafs.org/pipermail/openafs-info/2014-March/040608.html, it
seems the issue will be gone at least in the RHEL 6.6 kernel. No news on RHEL5
yet though. A first stab at the bind mount implementation is available for
review:
http://gerrit.openafs.org/#q,status:open+project:openafs+branch:openafs-stable-1_6_x+topic:linux-mtpt-bindmount,n,z
 ].

== 1.6.7 security release ==

No news.

== 1.6.8 release ==

Many of the open changes foreseen for 1.6.8 received positive review before or
during the meeting [update: and most were merged afterwards]. No blockers seem
to be left. We should be able to get pre1 out shortly before EAKC, as planned.
