== Linux news ==

Marc tested the current 1.6 head against the current Linux mainline (rc7+), and
we're still good.

== Problem reports ==

=== RT #131819 (vos size -dump) ===

Gerrit 10876 is still under review on master. Stephan to contact Hartmut and
push the change again with the "FIXES" line in the commit message if he's ok
with it. [done]

=== RT #131825 - slow/stalling vos move ===

Looks like an issue with the system, but there's a remote chance that it's an
OpenAFS issue. Andrew to ask for debugging data.

===

The current state of Andrew's bind mount implementation is available:
http://gerrit.openafs.org/#q,status:open+project:openafs+branch:openafs-stable-1_6_x+topic:linux-mtpt-bindmount,n,z
 . Of course this would have to go through master before it's actually
committed, isn't quite finished yet, it's unclear whether it's not too complex
for the stable series at all, etc. But it's probably the way to go in the long
run, and it should build and basically work at least on EL 6.5. The comments on
the last change in the stack (10917) are worth reading even if you have no time
to look into the actual code.

== 1.6.7 security release ==

No firm news, but Jeffrey reports that it's still planned to pre-announce at
EAKC and release 1.6.7 on Wednesday the week after (April the 2nd).

== 1.6.8 release ==

The issue introduced by gerrit 10804 reported by Andrew in
https://lists.openafs.org/pipermail/openafs-devel/2014-March/019791.html is a
showstopper. [update: Marc whipped up gerrit 10928 which will hopefully fix
this - please review & test]

Due to this, we'll not get 1.6.8pre1 out before EAKC. There's still hope to get
it out during EAKC though. A face-to-face release-team meeting is planned for
Wednesday evening in CERN's restaurant 1 (WLAN available there), with the goal
to get pre1 out the door (tagged, tarballs uploaded) during the meeting.

Another late addition to 1.6.8 are the OS X/Xcode 5.1 patches. Please review
http://gerrit.openafs.org/#q,status:open+project:openafs+branch:openafs-stable-1_6_x+topic:xcode51,n,z
 .

Finally, Mike brings up gerrit 10884, fixing a possible panic during client
shutdown. [meanwhile pulled up as gerrit 10932]
