The same problem happens with Transarc AFS 3.6 Patch #3 (afs3.6 2.26) on
Linux 2.2.x SMP.  I triggered it with 'find . -noleaf'.  The problem has
been reported to and reproduced by Transarc/IBM.  Apparently it's specific
in Linux SMP.
