Hi everybody,

currently I'm happily running OpenAFS client on a number of hosts running
Mandrake Linux 8.1 (from "openafs-1.2.2-rh7.1.1.src.rpm", rebuilt on one of
these machines).

I've installed a new box with Mandrake Linux 8.2, and was going to install
OpenAFS client on that machine too... but, unfortunately, I've not been able
to do so. :-(

I have tried to install and run the client from the packages obtained by
rebuilding the .src.rpm for 1.2.4-rh7.1, 1.2.3-rh7.1 as well as the same
1.2.2-rh7.1 I've used for the others machines, with no luck.

The packages build and installs without a glitch, but as soon as I try to
start the client (i.e. "/etc/init.d/afs start"), the kernel panics. :-(

I'm afraid of some incompatibilities with the Mandrake (heavily patched)
kernels and the OpenAFS kernel module... :-?

Any hint?

Thanks in advance.

Ciao,
                                Paolo.
