We have our AFS servers on a KVM. The KVM uses the scroll lock button to switch between systems. This is creating a problem because the system may wind you in scroll lock mode which prevents the backupsys program from writing its messages to the console causing it not to finish. Once the console is released from scroll lock backupsys finishes and everything looks normal. The problem has been this can go for days without being noticed.
So I have these questions. 1. Does backup sys actually perform the backups but the date stamp is not written until the program is finishing? 2. Is there a way to disable in linux the scroll lock button? 3. Is anyone else having this problem?
