Hello all.
'till now I've used openafs on RedHat's Linux
standard kernels and releases, hence - I used the RPMs and built the module for
my system.
The RPM creates the directory /usr/vice/etc and
places the default files over there.
This time - I'm trying to run openAFS on RedHat
summit kernel (RHAS 2.1).
I guess (and I'll be happy if someone correct me) I
had to compile the source.
I followed the README and ran :
./configure --with-afs-sysname=i386_linux24
--with-linux-kernel-headers=/usr/src/linux --enable-transarc-paths
make
make dest
The directory i386_linux24 was created and I've
looked in it :
Several directories were created.
Now for the questions :
Where should I copy those dirs ?
Where is the init script gone (/etc/init.d/afs)
?
If I run - make install - the module
files are placed into /usr/vice/etc, and not in /usr/vice/etc/modload, like I
used to have.
Also - afsd, CellServDB and the rest of the files
aren't being placed on this directory, also like I used to have.
What am I doing wrong and how can I finally get it
run ?
Thank you in advance,
Oded Dubovsky.
