If I don't remember wrongly (it was almost two years since I worked
with BackupExec last time), BackupExec can execute external scripts
before a backup takes place.
If this is correct, all you need to do is write a script that dumps
each volume that you want to do a backup of (full/incremental etc)
to files and backup THOSE...
