Thanks to those who helped me get up and running.

 

There are 2 250GB afs servers up and running.

 

It’s a great file system. Just some statistics:

 

Time from total ignorance/dead start to finish – 30 days

Several days were lost trying to get Heimdal/AFS working

Dropped back to strictly stock kaserver

Printed several hundred pages of documentation

Bought 1 book (Managing AFS)

Created Tex - Linux only Quick Start Guide(took 3 days)

Created Wiki for cut and paste commands

Number of afs rebuilds – 20 or so

Current time to install afs client&server&users&permissions from scratch – 10 min

# of afs servers - 4

# of Win clients 5

# of Linux clients only 3
