I'm trying to install OpenAFS 1.2.11 on an AMD64 system running RH EL WS v3.0. The only package for this level of RH that I found on the OpenAFS site is for the i386 system. I actually tried that without success. I tried downloading the OpenAFS source and compiling it myself, but couldn't find a compatible afs-sysname to specify; e.g. I compiled the same source for my IA64 platform and was able to successfully build OpenAFS using the predefined afs_sysname ia64_linux24.
So I guess my question is how does one build an OpenAFS kernel extension for a system not listed yet as a valid afs_sysname? Has anyone actually build OpenAFS for AMD64 running RHand is willing to share the experience.
