Thanks for all the help!!! This was the solution, only difference is on debian it /etc/openafs/server/krb.conf instead of /usr/afs/etc/krb.conf

Since you are using a kerberos realm with a different name than your cell
name, you need to do a small bit of extra configuration.

On all your servers, create /usr/afs/etc/krb.conf with the contents

UMICH.EDU

and restart them.


Don't take life to seriously because you'll never make it out a live.
