I thought about that, so I made sure to check the status of things before 
the last bos salvage. All vos command that didn't actually change anything 
(examine, listvol and the like) worked fine. I didn't dare try a vos move 
though.

I guess I'm down to a patch, rebuild & reboot (and hope I don't have to 
haul my ass back to campus). :)
