do you in fact have the rights?

well, i do this as root and admin/admin, and it tells me:

fs la /afs
fs: You don't have the required addess rights on '/afs'

root is irrelevant. if admin.admin is in system:administrators, and root.afs is not replicated (that would be a different error) and afsd was not started with -dynroot (and that would be a different again error) then it should work.
