Openafs was compiled on several different x86 systems with varying kernel configurations.
Kernel variables were 586 & P4 instruction sets , SMP, SP, Preemptable kernel, HPET timer/RTC interrupt and Hyperthreaded scheduler. All were varied from system to system. System-call auditing was on for all cases. In all cases libafs built correctly and the client talks to two 1.2.11 servers. The 1.3.81 server has not been checked out yet. There appears to be an undocumented step that needs to be taked prior to .configure. regen.sh was run recreating the .configure script whenever the kernel configuration underwent a major change.
