What is the current status on OpenAFS and Linux kernel syscall table?
Does the table need to be exported?
1.2.13 needs to be able to find the syscall table. Except for certain redhat kernels where the hacks that are in place can find the syscall table even when it is not exported, it needs to be exported. 1.3.64 and newer can be used without access to the syscall table, but only if afsd and all pioctl-using tools support the new interface. 1.3.78 and newer have a more general hack for finding the syscall table that works on more kernels, but afs still works if it fails to find the table.

I found that OpenAFS 1.2.13 does not work with 2.4.24 kernel (it builds
and loads, but afsd fails). It works fine with 2.4.30 kernel.
Is the 2.4.24 a vendor or kernel.org kernel (I am assuming the 2.4.30 is kernel.org)? What messages do you see?
