I understand that would mean ms access and the like. However, I was not aware that outlook pst files would be faced with multiple accesses, I only have one instance of outlook running. the point is to make afs a reliable place to put windows user home directories, ie profiles. We could using some kind of profile synchronization method -- or we could just map the whole profile into afs. The later would be my preference. > > The problem that was solved in AFS with regards to Office applications > is that the overlapped I/O problems which used to prevent Office > applications such as Word and Excel from even writing their files > into AFS have been fixed. > > I am not aware of any problems being reported with file corruption > other than those related to byte ranging locking issues. > > Jeffrey Altman > > > David Bear wrote: > > > A few years ago I attempted to store ms outlook pst files in afs. this > > was a big failure.
