The AFS Server on Windows is not tested or maintained at this time.
If it works, great. If not, it is no surprise.

Since you are receiving an RPC server error I suggest that you determine
if you are able to communicate with the AFS Client Service. You can
test this by issuing the "tokens.exe" command. If the AFS Client
Service accessible, then there is a bug in the AFS Server Configuration
Manager.

Note that the AFS Server install at the present time still installs
and assumes you are using kaserver. It also has no support for
Freelance mode in the AFS Client. You must turn off Freelance mode
if you are attempting to use the AFS Server.

Jeff is right about all those points.
I can testify that OpenAFS 1.3.83/84 (I'm not using those any more) and the test version from 20050518 are working with the constraints described by Jeff.

The salvager is not very reliable but I'm not complaining about that since it really is an experimental version and I'm using it as 'an experiment' :-)
