The statement refers to the ability to handle the enctypes and ticket
sizes used by Active Directory and other Kerberos 5 KDCs.   The support
for Kerberos 5 in 1.2.x would not have worked with all KDCs.

It is true that asetkey is not provided in the Unix distribution
and that aklog is built but perhaps not packaged on all platforms
in the 1.4.0 release.   They will be added in future 1.4.x releases.
