Hi All

I am trying to configure AFS clinet on SLES9 on s390 machine. The OS details are as shown below

[....openafs-1.3.78] # cat /proc/version
Linux version 2.6.5-7.97-s390 ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 3.3.3 (SuSE Linux)) #1 SMP Fri Jul 2 14:21:59 UTC 2004

# tar xvf openafs-1.3.78-src.tar
# cd openafs-1.3.78/

# cp /boot/symvers-2.6.5-7.97-s390-s390.gz /usr/src/linux/ Module.symvers.gz
# cd /usr/src/linux
# gunzip Module.symvers.gz
# make modules_prepare

# ./configure --enable-largefile-fileserver --enable-namei- fileserver --enable-supergroups --enable-fast-restart --enable- transarc-paths --with-linux-kernel-headers=/usr/src/ linux-2.6.5-7.97 --disable-kernel-module --with-afs- sysname=i386_linux26

# ./configure --enable-largefile-fileserver --enable-namei- fileserver --enable-supergroups --enable-fast-restart --enable- transarc-paths --with-linux-kernel-headers=/usr/src/ linux-2.6.5-7.97 --with-afs-sysname=i386_linux26

...

Are you really sure the sysname should be i386 on a s390?
I don't think so ;-)

BTW, if that's a real S390 and not the S390z, OpenAFS was never tested with kernels 2.6.x, AFAIK.
