Someone else with knowledge of the Linux clients will have to help
you debug the client the behavior. If this was a Windows client
I would have you capture "fs trace" output. The syntax for the
Linux client is a bit different.

cd <cell>
fs lq
cd <user directory>
fs lq
fs lsm <user home directory mount point>
cd <user home directory mount point>
fs lq
