I just downloaded and tried to install OpenAFS 1.4.1 over a  previous OpenAFS 1.4.1RC10, in Mac OSX 10.4.6 on a MacBook Pro w Intel Duo.  After the installer got administrator autentication, it stops with error: There were errors installing the software Please try installing again. I Tried a new installetion after a fresh reboot, with the same error. May be something is going wrong in the installer ...
