depending on the nature of the batch job, it may be simpler to make it
not use afs at all, working with the local resources only. depends on
the site, the user needs and awareness of how things work, and how
much effort the admins want to put into making long jobs run with afs
authentication.

with AFS access, create a keytab for it, and hack AFS authentication into
your batch process using something like k5start.
