What filesystem are you using ?
i got the best results with XFS and having the log on a separate partition ...

Thanks so far.
Changed this and get now 7 MBit/sec while dumping that backup volume...
I think the problems are the really big count of small files in that
volume...
Another 60 GB volume with a lot of 8 MB files is backuped with >100
MBit/sec from the same fileserver.
