Esther, Jeff, and others have all mentioned the importance of actually looking at the bogus volumes to see what they are before doing anything irrevocable.
Right. The "bogus.XXXX" name does NOT mean the _volume_ is somehow "bogus"; all it means is that at some point the salvager encountered a volume which was damaged in a particular way that prevents it from knowing what the correct volume name is, so it makes something up. The volume may be something you don't care about, or it may contain valuable data. If a "bogus.XXXX" volume name in 'vos listvol' output catches you by surprise, then you are not reading your salvager logs carefully enough.
