So why doesn't the file save to afs?

The menu is Volumes the menu item is Network.  Not really that hard to
figure out. Don't be scared to look around.

so file a bug report with Microsoft on explorer.exe.  What FileMon
reports is what the application requests, not what OpenAFS does.
