The problems with the AFS Server Manager GUI are mostly thread safety issues. If you leave it be once you kick off an operation until the operation completes things should be fine.
I put a block of time into it more than a year ago to get it to the point where it was functional and could authenticate using Kerberos 5. I'm not planning on putting any more time into either that tool or getting the AFS Servers running on Windows again until someone is willing to support the work. Jeffrey Altman
