The kernvers is wrong.   Run "uname -r" and you'll see!
I recommend you just let rpmbuild determine the current kernel version.

uname -r would not work before booting with the new kernel. As usual, I
tried to build the openafs module before rebooting.

Sure, but your kernvers is still wrong.  ;)
