> How is Debian, Ubuntu , Slackware , Mandriva in this regard?

i am using debian sarge with openafs 1.4.2 (build from source) and
kernel 2.6.18.2. works well... update (to kernel or openafs client) +
rebuild is quite simple.

also, i have created a simple custom script to load the correct
libafs.ko and start the afsd.

vlad

ps: i have also tried a test setup with debian etch (current testing
branch due to be released soon) and it also works (using the native
debian packages for openafs 1.4.2 from debian repository).
