I am doing some initial work to get AFS authenticating against a Kerberos V server. I am trying to use fakeka for starters, to minimize user disruption. Unfortunately the Windows AFS client does not use RX so fakeka does not work.
Correct.
Is there something I can do to make my existing Windows AFS installations authenticate against the Kerberos V server?
So what version of the OpenAFS client are they running? Most new versions can already authenticate against K5 KDCs provided you also install the MIT Kerberos for Windows package. Depending on the file server AFS version, you may or may not need the 524 daemon installed.
Changing the Windows machines is not an option at the moment and they are all set up for the native AFS authentication.
So if you can't change anything, is there a point in asking? Rodney Rodney M.
