any idea what it means when it asks for "Password for root:"??

kas doesn't use your existing tokens; you have to authenticate when you run it. If you don't use the -admin_username argument to tell it your username, it makes a guess based on your local username. So if you are logged in as root, it assumes 'root' is also the name of the admin account you want to use.
