Hi,
A problem occurs, if I want to list the contents of a directory in windows explorer. With list permission (only) I have to wait several minutes and at the end only a small fraction of the files are listed or I get an error message, that it is not allowed to access the directory. I get the same problem if I list the content in dos with 'dir'.

With read access rights set I get the full list immediately.
It seems that windows wants much more information about the content of the folder than it gets from AFS with only list permission.
Does there exist a workaround for this problem?

My system:
Server: OpenAFS 1.4.4-osd built 2007-04-02
Client: OpenAfs 1.4.206 / 1.5.0001 / ...
test Directory : /afs/ipp-garching.mpg.de/mpq/qdynamics/public/accessRights (list access for system:)

Thanks,

Holger
