vos examine root.afs
vos examine root.cell

you might consider configuring the client with -dynroot (probably in the
client options in /etc/sysconfig/afs; it's an afsd switch) in which case the
panic will go away regardless and you can focus on the core issue of
unbreaking your cell.

yes, everything worked well before adding the second server
administrative database
now things are getting worst: I've stopped administrative database on
the second server and tried to use it as a simple client (after reboot),
and I still can't mount /afs but for more, doing fs checkvolumes on the
client raises a kernel panic on the client and the server!!

Have you tried using "tcpdump" or related
