I just think it would be great to have a very clear
description of what those few steps are all about
(for my documentation which I intend to make as clear
as possible for everyone and share).

Are you unclear on the concepts, or the mechanics of what you need to do?
For the mechanics, you can look at the README in the AFS-Kerberos 5
migration kit (particularly steps 3 and 4).
